Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, Nature reserve in Del Norte County, United States.

The park spans 10,000 acres of old-growth redwood forest, where trees reach heights over 350 feet along the Smith River banks.

The California Department of Parks and Recreation established this protected area in 1929, naming it after explorer Jedediah Smith from the 1800s.

Native American tribes maintained connections with this forest for thousands of years before European settlers arrived in Northern California.

The park contains 106 campsites with heated restrooms, multiple hiking trails, and access points to the Smith River for swimming and fishing.

The Stout Grove features a collection of ancient redwoods growing in specific soil conditions that create an unusual spacing between trees.
