The Patrick F. McManus House stands at the corner of 1st and Church Streets, featuring architectural elements characteristic of the Classical Revival style from the 1850s.
Built between 1853 and 1855, this residence belonged to Patrick F. McManus, a sutler and prospector who participated in the early exploration of Crater Lake.
The house represents one of the earliest residential structures in Phoenix, Oregon, built on the original donation land claims belonging to Samuel Colver.
The property occupies 0.4 acres of land and maintains its position in the National Register of Historic Places since its listing in 1978.
Detailed documentation of the house exists in the Library of Congress through the Historic American Buildings Survey, completed during the Works Progress Administration.
