Conro Fiero House, Arts and Crafts Tudor mansion in Jackson County, Oregon
The Conro Fiero House is an Arts and Crafts mansion in Jackson County, Oregon, featuring a rectangular layout with wood cladding and paired columns supporting a wide veranda. The structure sat on a 140-acre estate called Woodlawn Orchard until a fire destroyed it in 2010.
Built in 1910, the house first served as a private residence before being converted into Mon Desir restaurant in 1943. The dining establishment operated for over three decades until closing in 1979.
The house brought together English Tudor design with handcrafted building principles, shaping how homes were built in the surrounding area for decades.
The property was listed in the National Register of Historic Places and offered visitors a chance to see a well-maintained example of Arts and Crafts design. Located in Jackson County, the site was easy to access, though visitors should know the building no longer stands today.
The estate was known as Woodlawn Orchard, named after the fruit orchards that surrounded the property and gave it a garden-like setting. This lush landscape made it a fitting venue when the building later became Mon Desir, where guests dined in the orchard surroundings.
