Les Schwab Amphitheater, Open-air theatre in Old Mill District, Bend, United States
Les Schwab Amphitheater is an open-air theatre with 8,000 seats situated along the Deschutes River in Bend's Old Mill District. The venue takes advantage of the natural riverbank slope to create tiered seating areas for spectators.
The amphitheater was built in 2001 and began hosting performances in 2002 as a modern venue for Bend. It was named after a prominent Oregon businessman who played a significant role in the economic development of Central Oregon.
This venue serves as a gathering place for the community, especially on summer evenings when people sit on blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy live music together. The mix of local artists and touring bands creates a space where different musical tastes meet.
Bring a blanket or lawn chair and sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun during performances. Gates open about one and a half hours before events start, giving you time to arrive and set up comfortably.
Free Sunday concerts throughout the summer offer access to live music without any admission cost. This makes it possible to regularly discover different performers without financial barriers.
