West Linn, Riverside city in Clackamas County, Oregon.
West Linn sits between the Willamette and Tualatin rivers, spanning elevated plateaus and open natural areas throughout the region. The landscape includes diverse plants and wildlife that shape how the terrain looks and feels.
Robert Moore founded the settlement in 1839 and called it Robin's Nest, but the Oregon Territorial Legislature changed the name to Linn City in 1845. This shift reflected the growing importance of the place in the region.
Local artists run multiple galleries throughout the area that display their work and connect with visitors regularly. Community events happen throughout the year, bringing people together around shared interests and celebrations.
A public fishing dock provides water access, while the Pete's Mountain area has several wineries and hiking trails run along both rivers throughout the region. The area works well for day visits with plenty of activity options to explore.
The Nature Conservancy protects the Camassia Natural Area within the city limits, preserving native plant species and geological formations found nowhere else nearby. This protection effort shows how the community values its land and water resources.
