The Marylhurst Art Gym

The Marylhurst Art Gym occupies a former gymnasium building featuring large windows and high ceilings that flood the exhibition spaces with natural light. The venue displays works by artists from the Pacific Northwest region.

The space was established in 1980 by faculty members of Marylhurst University as a grassroots initiative. Exhibition records and archival materials from decades of programming are now preserved at the Portland Art Museum's library.

The gallery provides a platform for regional artists to show their work and gain visibility within the contemporary art community. Visitors experience the living art scene of the Pacific Northwest through the exhibitions presented here.
