Center Park, Residential building in Mount Baker, Seattle, US.
Center Park is a seven-story residential complex located at 2121 26th Avenue South in Mount Baker, Seattle. The building contains over 100 independent living units with communal dining facilities.
The complex was founded in the 1960s by Ida May Daly, who herself lived with muscular dystrophy. She purchased land in the Rainier Valley area to create a supportive home for people with physical and mental challenges.
The building hosts a multi-purpose recreation room where residents gather for events and activities. This space also serves the wider Mount Baker community as a polling location during elections.
The building is fully wheelchair accessible throughout, making it easy to navigate all areas. Residents receive three daily meals in the cafeteria and benefit from staff support available on-site.
The complex was designed specifically for people with disabilities and was among the first of its kind in the region. Its founder created it from personal conviction to help others facing similar circumstances.
