Wallace Falls State Park, Public recreation area with waterfalls in Snohomish County, Washington.
Wallace Falls State Park is a recreation area along the Wallace River in the Cascade Mountains featuring three waterfalls that drop through dense forest. The park offers hiking trails, biking paths, and places to stay including campgrounds and cabins for visitors.
The land was purchased from timber interests in 1971 and designated as a protected natural area. This marked the transition from logging use to public recreation and environmental conservation.
The name derives from Joe and Sarah Kwayaylsh of the Skykomish tribe, who established the first homestead in this mountainous region.
The trails rise through different elevations and can be slippery, especially after rain. Visitors should wear sturdy shoes and arrive early in the day to secure parking spots.
The main waterfall system contains multiple cascades, with one section dropping around 80 meters. The largest falls are visible from the Skykomish Valley below the park.
