Nojoqui Falls

Nojoqui Falls is a waterfall in Santa Barbara County that descends about 80 feet over rocky tiers before collecting in a pool below. Thick vegetation surrounds the cascade, creating a green and sheltered setting at the base.

The Chumash people relied on this water source for generations as part of their settlement in the region. The falls held importance in their relationship with the land and its resources.

Local photographers gather at different times of day to capture the changing light conditions and seasonal water patterns of the natural formation.

A trail winds through the forest to reach the falls, with parking and restrooms available at the start. The hike is moderate and takes about half an hour to an hour roundtrip, making it accessible for most visitors.

Water flow changes dramatically with the seasons, reaching its peak in spring when snowmelt and rain feed the stream. During dry months, the cascade may reduce to just a trickle.
