Rangers' Club, National Park Service residential building in Yosemite Valley, US.
The Rangers' Club features wood shingles, steep roofs, and large log pillars that connect with the surrounding forest environment of Yosemite National Park.
Stephen T. Mather, first director of the National Park Service, funded the construction of this building in 1920 for $39,380 to house the park's ranger force.
The structure represents the National Park Service Rustic architecture style with its natural materials, exposed beams, and integration into the landscape.
The two-story building contains dormitories for seasonal rangers, common spaces with wooden furnishings, and stands across from the Valley Administration Building.
The interior maintains its original 1920s furnishings, including built-in bookcases, dark wood paneling, and decorative fir tree motifs in the hallway nooks.
