Desperado, Hypercoaster at Buffalo Bill's Casino in Primm, Nevada, United States.
Desperado is a steel roller coaster at Buffalo Bill's Casino in Primm, Nevada, United States. The track runs partly outdoors along the building facade before returning inside, with riders experiencing several changes in direction.
The coaster opened in 1994 built by a manufacturer from Utah and was recorded two years later as the tallest of its kind worldwide. Over time, other operators took over management of the casino and the attraction.
The name recalls stories about outlaws in the American West and fits the theme of the hotel named after a Western gunfighter. Guests playing slot machines can look up through large windows and watch riders pass overhead through the gaming floor.
The ride starts high in the building and requires a climb by stairs or elevator before guests board the cars. Those sensitive to strong acceleration or rapid changes in height should consider this before riding.
The track passes through open areas of the gaming floor, so sounds from the cars and riders can be heard among the slot machines. At certain points the route runs only a few meters above the heads of casino visitors.
