Pioneer Saloon, Western saloon in Goodsprings, Nevada.
The Pioneer Saloon is a Western saloon in Goodsprings, Nevada, featuring original 1913 stamped tin walls, a wooden bar counter, and a Brunswick bar back from the early twentieth century. The interior preserves the original fixtures and character from that era throughout the space.
The saloon opened in 1913 and gained attention in 1942 when actor Clark Gable spent three days at its bar awaiting news about a plane crash. This moment connected the place to a significant event in Hollywood history.
The visible bullet holes scattered across the metal walls tell stories of past disputes that took place here, serving as markers of the saloon's lived history.
The saloon sits about 30 minutes from Las Vegas and is easily accessible for day trips from the city. Food includes burgers and barbecue, served alongside drinks from morning until evening.
The metal walls came from Sears and Roebuck catalogs and represent one of the last remaining examples of this prefabricated construction method. This early twentieth century building approach is rarely seen today.
