Enterprise is a census-designated place in Clark County, Nevada, located in the southwest portion of the Las Vegas Valley and composed mainly of residential neighborhoods with commercial and service areas. The area features flat to gently rolling terrain with modern infrastructure that connects it to nearby Las Vegas.
The area was originally known for its gypsum mines and the railroad town of Arden, which emerged around 1905 and shaped early economic activity in the region. The name Enterprise comes from the school district established in 1918, which eventually became the name for the expanding community.
The neighborhood has a typical suburban character, where residents regularly participate in local community events and gatherings that bring neighbors together throughout the year.
Enterprise is well connected to Las Vegas by public transit and roads, making it easy to reach from the city. The area offers numerous local shops, restaurants, and everyday amenities that serve the needs of residents and visitors.
In 1958, a collision occurred between United Airlines Flight 736 and an Air Force jet over this area, marking when it was still mostly desert land. This incident traces the dramatic change from sparse desert settlement to modern residential development.
