Lavigerie

Lavigerie is a small mountain commune located in the Cantal department of central France at an elevation of around 1,075 meters. The village spreads across approximately 24 square kilometers of highland terrain in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

Lavigerie originated as a rural settlement in the mountainous Cantal region and is now part of the Hautes Terres intercommunality. Like many upland villages in the area, it has shrunk over decades as young people migrated elsewhere seeking employment.
