Camp de Canjuers

Camp de Canjuers is a military training facility situated on a limestone plateau in the Prealps of Castellane in southeastern France. The installation spans a large area at approximately 800 meters elevation and includes several accommodation areas and specialized buildings designed to support extended operations.

The facility was established in 1970, replacing farms and small settlements that previously occupied the area. The name references Campus Julii, an ancient Roman settlement whose legacy influenced the site's designation.

The facility serves as a training ground where French and international military units conduct exercises together throughout the year. This cooperation shapes daily operations and creates a space for military exchange among different nations.

Access is strictly restricted to authorized military personnel only, as the site remains an active military complex. The terrain is off-limits during active training exercises and operations.

The site is the only location in France authorized to conduct Multiple Launch Rocket System exercises and testing. This exclusive use makes it a crucial facility for testing such specialized equipment on a large scale.
