Lion House, Historic residence in Temple Square, Salt Lake City, United States
The Lion House spans three stories with twenty gables, featuring a stone lion sculpture above the front entrance at South Temple Street.
Constructed in 1856 by architect Truman Angell, the Lion House served as the residence for Brigham Young and his family of 55 wives and 56 children.
The Lion House parlor hosted the founding meetings of the Young Women organization in 1870, marking a significant development in religious education.
The ground floor contains a restaurant called Lion House Pantry, while the upper levels serve as event spaces for gatherings and celebrations.
The building includes 26 bedrooms arranged along corridors, with separate spaces designated for wives and gender-specific rooms for children.
