99 West on South Temple, Residential skyscraper in downtown Salt Lake City, United States
99 West on South Temple is a residential skyscraper with 30 floors in downtown Salt Lake City, housing 185 apartments along with amenities like a gym, indoor pool, and terrace. The building forms part of the City Creek Center development and features a distinctive brick exterior that shapes the streetscape.
Construction of the tower began in 2008 on the former site of the Inn at Temple Square hotel, with residents first occupying it in spring 2011. This development was part of a larger revitalization effort for the downtown area through the City Creek Center project.
The street level hosts the Utah Sports Hall of Fame Museum, connecting residents and visitors to local sports heritage through exhibits and displays that celebrate athletic achievements.
The building has underground parking and multiple elevators serving all floors of the tower. Visitors can access the street-level museum and lobby area, though residential floors above remain restricted to occupants only.
The tower earned LEED Gold certification for meeting environmental building standards and sustainable design practices. Its brick facade was intentionally designed to contrast with typical glass-and-steel towers while paying homage to local construction traditions.
