Flatiron Building

The Flatiron Building is a three-story bank structure with a striking narrow corner that sits at the intersection of two streets in downtown Lacombe. Its triangular shape with the pointed front edge makes it instantly recognizable along the streetscape.

Built in 1904, the structure originally served as the headquarters for Merchant's Bank before being taken over by the Bank of Montreal in 1922, which remained there until 1967. These transitions reflected the town's growth and economic shifts in the early 1900s.

The building now houses the Lacombe and District Historical Society, where visitors can explore archives and exhibitions about the region's past. The spaces show how the community developed and what stories shaped the people who lived there.
