ENMAX Centrium, Indoor sports arena in Red Deer, Canada

The ENMAX Centrium is an indoor sports arena with two tiers of seating arranged in separate sections throughout the facility. The venue accommodates around 7,100 spectators for sporting events and nearly 7,800 for concerts and other performances.

The arena opened in 1991 at a cost of 23 million CAD, designed by PBK Architects Inc. and Group 2 Architecture Engineering Ltd., and was first named Red Deer Centrium. Enmax Corporation held the naming rights from 1999 to 2019, after which the venue became the Peavey Mart Centrium in July 2021. A 2012 expansion added 13 luxury suites, a 40-seat club suite and 1,000 seats.

This venue serves as home to the Red Deer Rebels hockey team and draws crowds for regular games throughout the season. It also hosts concerts, rodeos, trade shows, and other major community events that bring people together.

The arena sits in Westerner Park in the south end of Red Deer, the largest indoor venue in the park and in Central Alberta. Divider curtains can close off the upper seating, cutting capacity to 3,357 for smaller events. The ice surface measures 200 by 85 feet, and the roof truss stands 52 feet above the arena floor.

The hockey rink boards use spring-loaded systems with acrylic and rubber caps that meet NHL safety standards. This design protects players better and creates a more responsive playing surface.
