Fuhu Temple

Fuhu Temple is a Buddhist sanctuary located where Yoga River and Tiger Creek meet in the mountains. The complex contains thirteen halls spread across a large grounds area positioned on a mountainside with surrounding peaks and valleys.

This sanctuary originated during the Tang Dynasty and underwent expansion in the Song period before later being destroyed. It was completely rebuilt afterward and took on the form it has today.

The temple stands out for its prominent golden Maitreya statue that draws visitors' attention immediately upon arrival. The hall housing 500 distinct Arhat sculptures shows how artisans devoted care to crafting each figure differently.

This location is best explored on foot, and it helps to study a simple map beforehand to navigate the layout. Visitors should bring suitable footwear since many areas are reached by stairs and uneven paths.

The site houses the Huayan Pagoda, which stands out for containing thousands of Buddhist figures. This pagoda differs notably from other religious structures due to the sacred text completely carved into its surfaces.
