Tuan Dao, Historical district in Qingdao, China.
Tuan Dao is a district at the western edge of Shinan and Shibei in Qingdao, bordered by Jiaozhou Bay and Tuandao Bay. The area developed through land reclamation and now functions as a residential neighborhood with various administrative services.
The area formed from coastal reefs that were connected through land reclamation starting in the 1980s. The region experienced administrative reshuffling in the mid-20th century when Qingdao reorganized its district boundaries.
The area contains eight major roads named after notable Chinese gorges, established through land reclamation projects starting in 1984.
The area is easy to explore on foot, with clear pathways and good walking connections to the surrounding bays. Many administrative services are located in central office buildings and available during standard business hours.
The name comes from the distinctive triangular shape of the landmass that emerged from a cluster of coastal reefs. This geographic formation makes the area easy to spot on maps and gives it a memorable outline.
