Zhanshan Temple, Buddhist temple in Shinan District, Qingdao, China.

Zhanshan Temple is a Buddhist temple in Qingdao covering approximately 20,000 square meters, featuring five halls and a pagoda. The structure sits positioned between three mountains and the sea in the eastern part of the city.

Construction began in 1933 under the direction of Master Tanxu and was completed in 1945, incorporating architectural elements from the Ming Dynasty. This blending of the two historical periods shaped the temple's appearance to this day.

The temple houses numerous Buddhist statues, including a white jade Guanyin figure at the entrance pool and Ming Dynasty stone lions guarding the mountain gate. These objects show how the site continues to function as an important place for worship and spiritual practice.

The location is easily accessible from the city center and has enough space for visitors to walk through the various halls on marked pathways. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes and allow time to explore all areas at a leisurely pace.

The Hall of Three Saints houses three gilded statues, while the Hall of Recumbent Buddha displays an imposing reclining figure, both rare examples of their kind in the region. Such artworks draw visitors with a particular interest in Buddhist artistic traditions.
