The Adobe Round Barn stands 65 feet tall with concrete foundation walls and features a double-pitch domed roof topped by a hexagonal cupola.
Anthony F. Joseph constructed this agricultural building in 1924 to meet increasing dairy product demands from the mineral resort's growing number of visitors.
The structure represents a transition from local home-based dairy production to commercial operations, marking changes in New Mexico's agricultural development.
Located near U.S. Route 285, the Round Barn underwent restoration in 2002 and received National Register of Historic Places designation in 2003.
This structure holds distinction as the only adobe round barn constructed in the United States, combining traditional building materials with circular architecture.
