Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo

Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo, Annual rodeo championship in Colorado Springs, United States.

Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo is a five-day event held at Norris-Penrose Event Center featuring bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, and bull riding. Competitors from multiple countries participate across these traditional rodeo disciplines.

Founded in 1946, this rodeo evolved from a small local competition into a major professional championship. Over the decades it expanded, eventually offering substantial prize money that attracts top competitors.

The event opens with a downtown parade featuring drill teams, mounted units, and western performances that reflect the area's connection to ranching and horsemanship. Locals and visitors gather to watch these traditions unfold through the streets.

The rodeo runs for five days with matinee and evening performances throughout the schedule. Plan to arrive early for popular events, as the grounds can get crowded during peak times.

The competition draws professional riders from the United States, Canada, and Mexico, making it one of the largest international gatherings of its kind in North America. This cross-border participation adds a distinctive element to the event.
