The Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo presents five days of competitive events including bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, and bull riding at Norris-Penrose Event Center.
Founded in 1946, this rodeo has grown from a local competition into a major championship event offering over one million dollars in prize money to professional athletes.
The event begins with a downtown parade on Tejon Street, featuring drill teams, mounted units, and traditional western demonstrations that celebrate regional heritage.
The rodeo grounds open at 10:00 AM for matinee shows and 4:00 PM for evening performances, with tickets available through the official website starting February each year.
Participants from the United States, Canada, and Mexico compete in the NFR Open, making it one of the largest international rodeo gatherings in North America.
