Auraria 9th Street Historic District

Auraria 9th Street Historic District contains 33 buildings featuring Late Victorian architectural elements spread across the area in downtown Denver. The structures were built between 1873 and 1905 and now form a cohesive collection representing that era of urban development.

This area emerged during the Colorado Gold Rush in the mid-1800s when miners, traders, and settlers established a new community near the South Platte River. The buildings constructed afterward documented the rapid growth and consolidation of the settlement during those founding decades.
