19th Street Bridge, Truss bridge in Denver, United States
The 19th Street Bridge spans 63 meters across the South Platte River with double iron trusses and cast iron decorative elements along its sides.
Built in 1888 by the Missouri Valley Bridge & Iron Company at a cost of $25,000, this structure replaced a wooden bridge damaged by flooding.
The bridge represents late 19th-century American engineering methods and stands as Colorado's oldest wrought iron bridge still in its original location.
After serving vehicle traffic for nearly a century, the bridge transformed into a pedestrian crossing in 1986 and connects to local walking trails.
The structure hosts the annual Gala on the Bridge fundraiser for The Greenway Foundation, transforming the crossing into a community gathering space.
