Highland Bridge, Pedestrian bridge in Denver, United States
The Highland Bridge extends 325 feet across Interstate 25, featuring a triple rib steel arch that rises 70 feet above the highway.
The Colorado Department of Transportation completed this connection between Downtown Denver and Highland neighborhood for 5.2 million dollars in December 2006.
The entrance ramp displays the National Velvet sculpture, which generates discussions among residents and visitors about its interpretation and meaning.
The bridge structure includes two plazas, one at ground level and another elevated, with direct access paths from Central Street and Platte Street.
Three parallel 16-inch diameter pipes form the space frame truss arch, each following different curves from the bridge centerline.
