Poudre River Public Library District, Public library network in Larimer County, Colorado.
The Poudre River Public Library District is a public library network in northern Larimer County, Colorado, with branches in Old Town, Harmony Road, and Front Range Village. Each location offers free access to books, digital collections, and computer stations, along with regular programming for all ages.
The library started in the late 1800s as a small collection on South College Avenue in Fort Collins. In 1903, a grant from Andrew Carnegie funded its first dedicated building, allowing the collection and its services to grow over the following decades.
The library hosts the Fort Collins Book Fest every year, where readers can meet authors in person and take part in conversations about books and regional themes. The event draws people from across the area and turns the library into a gathering point for the local reading community.
The network has several locations across northern Larimer County, so there is usually a branch within a short distance for most residents. Staff at each location can help first-time visitors find their way and make use of what is available.
The Harmony Road branch shares its building with Front Range Community College, making it one of the few public libraries in Colorado that also functions as an academic library. Visitors can use both the public and college collections in the same space without switching between two separate facilities.
