Trepanier Provincial Park, Provincial park in Central Okanagan, British Columbia, Canada
Trepanier Provincial Park is a protected area in Central Okanagan covering roughly 2,900 hectares of forested land. The park centers on Cameron Lake and includes older forest stands alongside areas regenerating from past fire.
The area received official protection status in 2001 and preserves an old trail network that traders once used. This route historically connected the Douglas plateau region to the Okanagan Valley.
The protected area maintains ecological zones MSdm2 and IDFdk2, preserving natural habitats of the Southern Thompson Upland region of British Columbia.
The park is accessible by road through various forest routes, with the main access from Highway 97 and Trepanier Bench Road. Visitors should expect varying trail conditions depending on the season and recent weather.
The park is home to several rare animal species found nowhere else nearby, including a small nocturnal owl and two snake species at risk in the region. These creatures rely on the protected forest habitat for survival.
