Prospera Place, Indoor sports arena in Kelowna, Canada
Prospera Place is a multipurpose arena in downtown Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, able to seat several thousand spectators depending on the type of event. The building has locker rooms, an on-site restaurant, and a number of concession stands spread across the venue.
The arena opened in 1999 to replace the older Kelowna Memorial Arena. It was first called Skyreach Place before being renamed in 2003 to its current name.
The arena is home to the local hockey team and regularly draws concertgoers, figure skating fans, and curling enthusiasts from across the region. This mix of sport and entertainment makes the building a gathering point in the daily life of the city.
The arena sits on Water Street in the downtown area and is easy to reach on foot from many parts of the city center. Arriving a little early is a good idea, as demand for seating can vary a lot depending on the event.
The ice surface is sized to support both professional hockey and regional curling competitions without major changes to the setup. This flexibility is why the venue can host so many different types of events over a single winter season.
