Headwaters Campground, Campground in Grand Teton National Park, United States.
Headwaters Campground is a camping facility in the John D. Rockefeller Jr. Memorial Parkway with 34 tent sites, 97 RV sites offering full hookups, and 40 camper cabins spread through wooded terrain. The grounds sit near the Snake River and accommodate different types of visitors with varied lodging preferences.
This campground developed as part of the John D. Rockefeller Jr. Memorial Parkway, a corridor created in 1972 to link Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. The parkway was established to protect this important landscape and facilitate travel between the two parks.
Rangers conduct educational programs throughout the camping season to teach visitors about local ecosystems, wildlife patterns, and environmental conservation methods.
Visitors should book reservations several months ahead since the facility fills quickly during peak season. Check-in occurs in the afternoon and check-out in the morning, so plan your arrival day accordingly.
Visitors can observe rare cutthroat trout species and other native fish in the nearby Snake River and Polecat Creek waters. These fish populations are important to the local ecosystem and offer interesting viewing opportunities.
