Billings Studio Theater

Billings Studio Theater is a community theater operating from a dedicated building adjacent to Rocky Mountain College campus. The venue stages roughly eight main productions annually, featuring both adult shows and children's performances through The Growing Stage program.

The ensemble was founded in 1953 and performed its first production with There's Always Juliet. The group relocated to its current building in 1971 and has operated as an independent nonprofit organization ever since.

The theater draws hundreds of volunteers annually who bring together classical plays and modern musicals for audiences of all ages. This collaborative approach has made it a gathering place where community members actively participate in creating live performances.

The theater is located on Rimrock Road in Billings and is easily accessible. Visitors should check in advance which type of production is scheduled, as the program alternates between adult and children's shows.

The organization maintains complete independence as a nonprofit separate from Rocky Mountain College, even while hosting some of their productions at the venue. This autonomy allows the theater to shape its own programming and artistic direction freely.
