University of Alberta Students' Union, Student organization hub at North Campus, University of Alberta, Canada
The Students' Union building provides study spaces, meeting rooms, dining facilities, and student services spread across multiple levels of the North Campus. These different spaces and departments organize the facility to meet various needs of the student community.
This student organization was founded in 1908 and ranks among the first representative bodies for students in Western Canada. Since then, it has developed into a central hub for student concerns and activities on campus.
The organization supports hundreds of student groups, ranging from academic societies to hobby and sports clubs, creating gathering points for different interests across the university. This variety allows students to connect with peers who share their passions and activities.
The building opens daily from 6:30 AM to 10:00 PM for student access without restrictions during these hours. After-hours entry requires a student card for security purposes.
The BearsDen platform consolidates management of all student groups into one digital system, simplifying event planning, grant applications, and membership coordination. This has made coordinating student activities considerably more efficient.
