Sexsmith, Agricultural town in northern Alberta, Canada
The town occupies 13 square kilometers of land with a population of 2,427 residents, situated 20 kilometers north of Grande Prairie along Highway 2.
Originally named Bennville in 1911, the settlement received its current name from David Sexsmith, a local trapper who arrived in the region during 1898.
Merchants transformed the main street through a restoration program, returning the architectural elements to match the early 1900s designs by October 1992.
The municipal office operates from PO Box 420 and manages three educational institutions: Robert W. Zahara Public School, Sexsmith Secondary School, and St. Mary's Catholic School.
Between 1939 and 1949, the town handled the largest grain shipments across the British Empire, operating eight grain elevators simultaneously.
