Lois Hole Centennial Provincial Park, Provincial park near Edmonton, Canada.
The park encompasses Big Lake and wetlands, stretching 8 kilometers in length and 3 kilometers at its widest point along the western edge of St Albert.
Established in 2005, this protected area was previously designated as Big Lake Natural Area through the Special Places program initiated in 1999.
The park bears the name of Lois Hole, a Lieutenant Governor of Alberta who championed environmental conservation and education throughout her career.
Visitors can access the wildlife viewing platform from Riel Drive in St Albert or through the Red Willow Trail System along the Sturgeon River.
The John E Poole Boardwalk provides elevated views of marshlands where 223 bird species have been documented, including Franklin's gulls and tundra swans.
