Lake Eucha, dam in Delaware County, Oklahoma
Lake Eucha is a reservoir in Delaware County, Oklahoma, located just south of Jay. The body of water stretches for about 8.5 miles (13.7 km) in length with widths under 1 mile (1.6 km) in some areas, reaching depths over 80 feet (24 m) and covering more than 2,800 acres (1,130 hectares).
The reservoir was completed in 1952 when the dam finished construction. It connects with nearby Lake Spavinaw through a protected waterway between the two lakes, which helps maintain water quality for plants and wildlife.
The water is clear enough for swimming and fishing and is accessible through multiple boat ramps on the northwest and southwest sides of the Highway 10 bridge as well as near Eucha Point. Bring water, snacks, and sun protection, especially during warmer months, and use local bait shops in Disney and nearby towns for fishing supplies.
Since 2016, largemouth bass have been regularly stocked to improve fish populations and maintain ecosystem health. Visitors can observe birds on the water and spot various wildlife in the surrounding natural habitat.
