The waterfall received its name from the 7th Earl of Hopetoun, who served as Governor of Victoria during the Australian colonial period.
The surrounding rainforest holds traditional importance for Aboriginal communities who maintained connections with the land for thousands of years.
Visitors can reach the waterfall viewing platforms through a 200-meter walking track that includes stairs and boardwalks through the forest.
The water flow increases substantially during winter months, creating strong mist patterns that reflect morning light through the tree canopy.
