Queen's Park, Bridgetown, Historic park at the heart of Bridgetown, Barbados.
Queen's Park is a 12-acre green space in central Bridgetown featuring an artificial lake, fountains, and landscaped gardens throughout. A sports ground accommodates cricket and recreational activities, with pathways connecting different areas.
The site was purchased by the British Government in 1782 and initially served as the residence of the Commander of British forces in the West Indies. It was later transformed into a public park and received its current name.
The Park House contains a theatre and art gallery where exhibitions and performances take place throughout the year. These venues serve as cultural meeting points for the community.
The park features public restrooms, a children's playground, and informative signs to guide your visit. Most areas are easily accessible and comfortable for walking throughout the day.
A massive baobab tree with an 18-meter circumference grows on the grounds, one of only two such trees on the entire island. This rare specimen often goes unnoticed by visitors walking through the park.
