The construction of the stadium was completed and officially inaugurated on February 9, 2008, replacing the previous football field located near the port.
The stadium serves as the home ground for multiple local football clubs including Sport Sal Rei Club, Academica Operaria, and Sporting Boa Vista.
Located northeast of the town center, the stadium stands adjacent to the industrial zone and former salt mines, near beaches and modern hotels.
The facility functions as a central venue for both football matches and regional athletics competitions organized by the Boa Vista Regional Athletics Association.
