Alassa

Located at an elevation of 440 meters, Alassa extends north of the Kouris Dam, providing expansive views of the surrounding water reservoir.

The original settlement from the 17th century was relocated to higher ground in 1985 due to the construction of the Kouris Dam, which submerged the old village.

The residents maintain traditional agricultural practices, cultivating olive trees, almond orchards, and vineyards while preserving local customs through community gatherings.

Visitors can reach Alassa by taking the main road from Limassol toward Platres, with the village situated approximately 12 kilometers from the district center.

Archaeological excavations at Pano Mantilari revealed a 1440-square-meter building from the copper era, the largest structure of its period found in Cyprus.
