Kannaviou Reservoir, Water reservoir in Asproyia, Cyprus
The Kannaviou Reservoir extends across 600 meters in length and reaches a height of 70 meters within the Paphos district of Cyprus.
The construction of this water management facility started in September 2000 and finished in March 2006, with water storage beginning in October 2005.
The reservoir forms part of the water infrastructure network that supplies communities from Peyia to Geroskipou, maintaining agricultural traditions in the region.
The reservoir contains 17.2 million cubic meters of water and serves as a primary source for irrigation and water supply in the Paphos district.
This facility represents the first rock fill dam with an upstream plate constructed in Cyprus, introducing new engineering methods to the island.
