New Parliament Building

The New Parliament Building is a modern parliament structure on Mount Wheldale in St. George's. The facility houses the House of Representatives and Senate chambers and offers views across the city and surrounding bay from its elevated position.

The building was constructed after Hurricane Ivan destroyed York House, the original parliament structure, in 2004. It was completed in 2018, marking the rebuilding of Grenada's legislative center.

The structure blends contemporary design with elements rooted in local architectural traditions. The design reflects Grenada's identity and creates a space that feels connected to island culture.

The site sits at an elevated location with good visibility from the city. Visitors should prepare for steep paths and note that access may be limited when legislative sessions are in progress.

The project received financial support from abroad that contributed to rebuilding the legislative center. This international collaboration shows Grenada's global connections and partnerships.
