Doyle Monument, Monument at Jerbourg Point in Saint Martin, Guernsey.
The granite column monument stands at Jerbourg Point, marking the achievements of Lieutenant Governor Sir John Doyle through its inscribed dedication.
Originally constructed in 1820 and standing 96 feet tall, the monument was demolished in 1944 by German forces before being rebuilt in 1953.
The monument represents the enduring connection between Guernsey residents and Sir John Doyle, who served as Lieutenant Governor from 1803 to 1816.
The monument provides visitors with access to panoramic views of the southeastern coastline and can be reached through walking paths around Jerbourg Point.
The current monument replaced a taller structure that included an internal staircase leading to an observation platform at its summit.
