Monte Carlo View, High-rise building in Jardin Exotique, Monaco.
Monte Carlo View is a residential tower in Jardin Exotique that rises 62 meters with 20 above-ground floors and 6 underground levels built into Monaco's cliff edge. The building integrates residential units on the upper floors with offices and commercial spaces occupying the lower three levels, creating a mixed-use development within the neighborhood.
The tower was designed by Jean-Michel Wilmotte in 2012 and blends postmodern architectural principles with traditional Monaco building elements. The project emerged during Monaco's period of updating its urban infrastructure while respecting the balance between contemporary design and local architectural identity.
The entry hall opens toward a garden, maintaining visual and spatial continuity with the surrounding Jardin Exotique and its plant collections. The building respects the green character of the neighborhood and demonstrates how contemporary structures can coexist with established botanical areas.
The building can be viewed from the outside and is easily accessible from the streets surrounding the Jardin Exotique neighborhood. Due to its cliffside location, visitors should be prepared for varying elevation changes and can use stairs or elevators to move between different levels.
The facade features hollow metal joints and oriel windows supported by stone brackets that allow daylight indoors while protecting against Mediterranean sun exposure. This technical approach shows how the design adapts both functionally and visually to the region's specific climate conditions.
