Government House, Administrative headquarters in Monaco City, Monaco

Government House is a late 19th-century building on Place de la Visitation in northeastern Monaco-Ville, the official seat of the Monegasque government. Inaugurated on 18 June 1894, it brought together the Governor General's private apartments and public service offices previously scattered across separate premises. Since 1911 it has housed the Ministry of State.

In 1717 a "casino" with a chapel, nicknamed "le Désert", was built on the site and used by Princess Marie de Lorraine as a retreat. The current building was inaugurated on 18 June 1894, bringing together the Governor General's private apartments and public service offices previously scattered across different premises. Since 1911 it has housed the Ministry of State.

Since 1911 the building has housed Monaco's Ministry of State, the head of the principality's government. The site was earlier called "le Désert", a name linked either to the empty land or to paintings of the Desert Fathers kept in the 1717 casino. The inauguration took place on 18 June 1894.

The building is located on Place de la Visitation in northeastern Monaco-Ville and can be easily identified from the street. Keep in mind that this is an active government center, so public access may be restricted to certain areas or times.

The 1894 building brought together the Governor General's private apartments and the offices of public services that had previously been scattered across different premises. Since 1911 it has housed the Ministry of State, created that year.
