Port of Fontvieille, Marina in Fontvieille, Monaco
The Port of Fontvieille is a yacht basin on the Mediterranean coast, sheltered beneath the Rock of Monaco and naturally protected from easterly winds. It accommodates about 290 boats with draft restrictions and provides water, electricity, toilets, and showers at each berth.
The port project began in 1966 and required millions of cubic meters of earth and rock to create artificial land, opening in 1973. This land reclamation expanded Monaco's territory and created a modern harbor for luxury yachts.
The marina district houses the Monaco Top Cars Collection museum and the Museum of Stamps and Coins, displaying Monegasque currency from different periods. These institutions shape the character of the area and draw visitors interested in the principality's history and heritage.
The harbor is a good spot to watch daily life from the water's edge, with easy access to walkways and restaurants around the waterfront. The area is fully walkable with clear paths and marked access points for visitors exploring the marina.
The harbor connects directly by footpath to Monaco Heliport nearby, which runs regular flights to international destinations. This link makes it a gateway for air travelers and yacht owners needing quick international trips.
