Oberjoch Pass, Mountain pass at Oberallgäu and Reutte district, Germany and Austria.
Oberjoch Pass is a mountain pass in the Allgäu Alps at about 1,178 meters (3,865 feet) elevation. Federal Highway B 310 runs over the pass, linking Bad Hindelang in Germany with Schattwald in Austria.
The pass developed as an important mountain link between the Allgäu valleys and Austria. During World War II from 1938 to 1945, it was renamed, then later restored to its original name.
The pass links German and Austrian mountain villages as a natural daily crossing between the two countries. Locals use it to visit family or commute to work, making it a genuine meeting point for the communities on both sides.
The road is passable year-round and connects both sides directly. Weather in the mountains changes quickly, so winter driving requires extra caution.
The pass is one of the higher paved mountain roads in the Alpine region and represents an established route across demanding terrain. This status makes it a known waypoint for drivers exploring alpine roads.
