Bad Kissinger Hütte, Mountain hut in Tannheimer Tal, Austria.
The Bad Kissinger Hütte is a mountain hut at 1,792 meters elevation in the Allgäu Alps, positioned above the Tannheimer Tal with views over the valley and surrounding peaks. It provides overnight lodging for up to 65 guests in shared sleeping quarters.
The hut was founded in 1880 and has since provided refuge to hikers crossing the Austrian Allgäu Alps. For more than a century it has remained a fixed point on mountain routes through this region.
The hut serves food rooted in Alpine tradition and draws visitors into communal dining spaces where strangers become companions for the evening. This social setting creates a natural gathering place where hikers rest and share their mountain experiences.
Hikers can reach the hut via several mountain paths or use the Füssener Jöchle cable car for faster access. The location is most easily reached during warmer months when trails are clear and well-marked.
The hut has held an environmental certification since 2006 that recognizes its commitment to sustainable practices in the mountains. This award reflects serious attention to protecting the sensitive Alpine environment.
