Füssener Jöchle, Gondola lift in Grän, Austria.
The Füssener Jöchle gondola lift transports visitors from Grän village at 1,205 meters to the mountain station at 1,821 meters elevation, covering 2,603 meters of distance in approximately 8.5 minutes while offering panoramic views of the Tannheimer Valley and surrounding Alps.
Originally constructed in 1970 as a double chairlift measuring 2,630 meters in length, the Füssener Jöchle was at the time the longest of its kind in Europe without a mid-station before being replaced in 1998 by the current Doppelmayr gondola system with 43 cabins.
The gondola serves as a gateway to traditional Tirolean mountain culture, providing access to alpine huts serving regional specialties like speck and cheese, while connecting visitors to hiking trails that showcase the pastoral heritage of the Tannheimer Valley region.
Operating from May 29th to November 2nd between 09:00 and 16:30, the lift charges round-trip tickets at €22 for adults, with each of the 43 eight-passenger cabins ensuring efficient transportation during peak tourist seasons in the Austrian Alps.
The mountain station features a large rotating Sonnenpanoramahut where visitors can sit comfortably while enjoying 360-degree panoramic views, and the area maintains artificial snow coverage across 500,000 square meters using a 15,000 cubic meter water storage pond and specialized snow-making equipment.
