The Freschenhaus is a mountain refuge in the Bregenzerwald range sitting at around 1846 meters elevation with sleeping space for roughly 47 people in mixed rooms and dormitories. The shelter offers basic amenities to support hikers and mountaineers during their alpine journeys.
The hut was founded by the Vorarlberg Alpine Club and grew into a key stopping point for mountaineers exploring the region. Its role as a resting place for alpinists has remained largely unchanged through the decades.

The hut is reachable via several hiking trails, with the main route from the village of Damüls taking approximately 6 hours of walking. Visitors should come prepared for mountain conditions and bring weather-resistant gear.
Near the hut lies the Freschen Cave, a protected formation stretching roughly 700 meters underground. The cave displays rare mineral deposits and intriguing geological structures shaped over countless years.
